I have used Ubuntu linux for years. However I never managed to make the most out of use considering it lacks the everyday softwares that are on Windows for now. I never thought about the usage of the crossover linux type apps. And used windows for those apps which do not work on Linux.

So how is your experience with Ubuntu Linux?

I've used Lubuntu myself, it worked pretty well on my Lenovo laptop. However since I like to hack the 8-bit Sonic games (and other games) most tools don't work on Ubuntu and only on Windows so I have to stick to Windows 10 for that. :S

I've never used Ubuntu or another Linux version. But I must say that I've heard a lot of good things about Unbuntu - and it looks pretty decent. But why would I go with Linux/Ubuntu over Windows? What are the benefits of Linux, for example?
